Literature Text

Passing silently
weeping tree at the town gate
omens blowing wind.

Resting captured here
ten years past the willow tree
remaining rooted.

Always the gray gloom
Is it the sky or my eyes
Coloring dark years.
So, this is haiku... but it's like a train of three haiku that sort of make one poem... so it's like a poem with stanzas that are in haiku format.

We're talking about haiku in my Japanese Aesthetics and Culture class, and I came up with the line "Ten hours past the willow tree" like a week ago. This poem grew around it, though the original line has been altered a tiny bit as you will see.

Still a little rough. If I remember I'll fix it up and update this.

(P.S. yay! new poetry! I havent written any in... more than six months!!)
